Cuốc ngực nâu là loài có kích thước trung bình trong nhóm cuốc (khoảng 22 cm). Chim có mặt đỏ rất nổi bật, đỉnh đầu và hai bên mặt màu đỏ đậm, thân trên và gáy màu nâu olive đậm, thân dưới phần lớn màu đỏ đậm với cổ trắng, lông bao đuôi dưới và sườn màu xanh nâu với nhiều sọc trắng nhỏ.
Description:
Ruddy-breasted crake is medium sized species in the crake group (about 22 cm). It has distinctively red eyes, deep reddish-chestnut forecrown and sides of head, dark olive-brown hindcrown and upperside, mostly deep reddish-chestnut underparts, white throat and dark greyish-brown vent and franks with narrow whitish bars.
