Rồng rộc là loài có kích thước trung bình trong nhóm rồng rộc (khoảng 16 cm). Chim trống, trong mùa sinh sản, có đỉnh đầu màu vàng đặc trưng, thân trên màu nâu da bò với nhiều sọc vàng đỏ ở ngực và sườn. Chim mái có thân dưới màu nâu ấm (không có sọc), cổ họng và lông bao đuôi dưới màu trắng.

Description:

Baya weaver is the medium sized species in the weaver group (about 15 cm). Male and female are very different. Male, in breeding season, has a distinctive yellow crown, buffish-brown upperparts with heavy rufescent streaks, more rufescent in breast and flanks. Female has plain warm brown (without streaks) underparts, and whitish throat and vent.
