Description:

Plain-backed sparrow is the medium sized species in the sparrow group (about 13 cm). Male and female are different. Male has a greenish-grey crown, distinctive yellowish head-sides, blackish throat, rufous-chestnut band extending from eye to nape-side, rufous-chestnut scapulars and lower mantle. Female is lack of the yellowish head-sides and blackish throat.
