Cú gáy cổ cườm là loài cu gáy nhỏ và đuôi dài. Lông thân chim chủ yếu màu hồng với màu xám ở đầu và hông. Lông cánh màu nâu sậm với điểm cuối cánh màu xám. Chim dễ dàng nhận dạng bởi mảng lớn nền đen đằng hai bên gáy nổi bật có các điểm trắng. Đấy là lý do chim được gọi dưới tên này.

Description:

The spotted dove (Spilopelia chinensis) is a small and somewhat long-tailed pigeon. It’s plume is rosy buff below shading grey on the head and belly. The wing feathers are dark brown with grey edges. It is most easily identified by the large, black half collar on the base of the hind-neck that is finely spotted with white. It derives it name from this aspect.
