Mô tả:

Choắt nhỏ là một loài chim nước nhỏ (khoảng 20 cm) trong họ dẽ có vòng mắt trắng, phần thân trên màu nâu xám, phần thân dưới trắng nổi bật (từ ngực đến cuối đuôi), chân và bàn chân ngắn màu vàng đậm, và mỏ nhỏ dài (nhạt màu ở phần gốc mỏ và tối màu ở cuối mỏ). Khi đậu, chim nhìn rất giống choắt bụng trắng trừ các vằn gọn sóng trên cánh.

Description:

Common sandpiper is small wader bird (average of 20 cm long) in the sandpiper family who has white eye-ring, greyish-brown upperparts, distinctive white underparts (from chest to vent), short dark-yellowish legs and feet, and a small and long bill with a pale base and dark tip. When it parks it looks similar to green sandpiper except it’s conspicuous barring wings.

Mô tả:

Le hôi – một số nơi gọi là vịt nước – là loài nhỏ nhất trong bốn loài chim le le có thể tìm thấy tại Việt Nam gồm le cổ đen (Podicep nigricollis) , le khoang cổ (Nettapus coromandelianus), le nâu (Dendrocygna javanica). Chim có vòng trắng xung quanh mắt, mỏ nhỏ nhọn, phần trên tối màu với cổ màu xám nâu (mùa không sinh sản), phần thân dưới trắng (chỉ nhìn được khi bay). Le Hôi là chim bơi và lặn rất giỏi khi truy đuổi con mồi dưới nước.

Description:

The little grebe is the smallest water bird within four species which was found in Việt Nam including Black-necked grebe, Cotton pygmy goose and Lesser Whistling Duck. This bird has white eye-rings, small pointed bill, predominantly dark upper-part with its brownish grey neck (during non-breeding season), white underpart (only can see when it flies). The little grebe is an excellent swimmer and diver chasing its aquatic prey underwater.
